There are 3 types of carbohydrates:
– Starches
– Sugar
– Fibers
All of them are very important to get energy from foods and insulin is the key to break them into glucose to maintain the function of muscles, brain, heart, liver, and more, regarding our body! People living with diabetes have to understand how many carbs are in a portion of food and related to that we need to calculate the units of insulin we need to keep our body as perfect as it is. This information is not the same between people and it could change according to your needs!
